Professional Experience
After graduating in the UK Elaine spent a year working as a resident on the Queensland Coast. On her return to the UK she undertook Emergency Medicine training before completing her General Practice Training. She spent several years as a GP during which time she completed the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. She moved to Australia in 2007 to work in Broken Hill for the Royal Flying Doctor Service doing retrieval and GP clinic work before working at Maari Ma Indigenous Health Service. She then moved to Adelaide and has been working as a GP since 2016.
Elaine has always been a keen traveller and is developing an interest in Travel Medicine . She did her student medical elective in rural South Africa and has continued to travel since then including backpacking in Mexico, Belize and Venezuela, volunteer work in Ghana and trekking in Nepal.
