Skin cancer screening & removal

A full skin check is a Standard consultation and costs $63.55, with the Medicare rebate amount being $33.55. If any further treatment is required following a skin-check, this will be bulk-billed. Further treatment may include a procedure to remove a suspicious legion.

Skin conditions

The cost of consultations relating to examination and treatment of skin conditions will depend on the length of the appointment. For Medicare card holders, a rebate is available that covers a major part of the cost. If you are a Medicare or OSHC card holder, the out of pocket expense will never exceed $30.00 for any length of consultation.

Medicare card holders

The Medicare rebate covers a major part of the consultation cost (i.e. Our Fee). We ask that you pay our fee at the conclusion of your consultation. The good news is that you no longer need to visit a Medicare office to claim back your Medicare rebate. Medicare Easyclaim allows the rebate to be paid directly into your bank account immediately following full payment of the consultation (i.e. Our Fee). For this to work, we will need you to bring along your Medicare card and Savings or Cheque account card (Debit card). We will then swipe both cards through our Medicare Easyclaim equipped EFTPOS terminal. This means your out of pocket expense is never more than $30 for any length of consultation. If you are a student, your out of pocket expense will never exceed $15.

OSHC card holders

Please bring your valid OSHC member card to the appointment, so that we can directly bill your OSHC Insurer. This means you will only be asked to pay the co-payment amount, following your consultation with the doctor. This is possible because we have a direct billing relationship with all the major OSHC insurers. Our direct billing OSHC partners are OSHC Worldcare, AHM, BUPA Australia and Medibank Private. Because you are a student, the most you will pay on the day will never be greater than $15, for any length of consultation.
