Our psychologists and mental health counsellors commonly help patients address issues including; pain, depression, exposure to traumatic events, grief, bereavement, anxiety, stress and relationship difficulties. The first stepMedicare or OSHC consultsFor appointments relating to treatment/ assessment of depression, anxiety issues, traumatic exposure or work-related stress, speak with one of our general practitioners about obtaining a clinical referral. These issues may entitle you to health fund or Medicare rebates if you are formally referred by a general practitioner. To have access to a Medicare rebate, a referral from a medical practitioner is required, such as one of our general practitioners. Private consultsFor help with relationships, individual counselling or personal coaching, simply book an appointment at reception or by phoning on (08) 8232 7372. An initial assessment and consultation can take place, to talk with you about your personal issues. In combination with the psychologist or mental health counsellor, an approach can be developed and recommended, before any further action is taken. If your psychologist or mental health counsellor notes issues during the initial assessment of a more clinical nature, the option of following-up with your doctor for clinical referral is something which can be considered. This may enable may enable you to receive rebates under Medicare or private health insurance (if applicable to you). |
